Keeps track of the household’s emergency supplies: food, drinking water and best-before dates. With a meal plan that uses up what expires first, a shopping list for on the go and sign-in with Proton Authenticator.
A web app for keeping track of the household's emergency supplies, sized for 4 people for 7 days. It shows at a glance how many days you can last, what needs to be eaten first and what is still missing. It runs at home in Docker and works on a phone too.
What it does
- Overview: how much of the target you have in food (kcal) and drinking water (litres), what expires first and the latest changes.
- Stock: everything with its best-before date and status. Search, filter by category and adjust the date or quantity of each batch.
- Update: taken from stock always deducts the oldest item first; restocked adds new products or batches. With a history of who did what.
- Meal plan: breakfast, lunch, dinner and a snack for today, 3 or 7 days, giving priority to whatever expires first. Each day gets a nutrition check for protein, vegetables, fruit and carbohydrates. One button deducts a whole meal.
- Shopping: a page for on the go listing what is below its minimum and what expires soon. Tick items off in the shop and add them straight away with Bought.
- Export: an A4 print version with tick boxes and a weekly menu, handy during a power cut, plus a CSV for Excel.
AI meal plan (optional)
If you like, the menu can be put together by Claude or OpenAI using your own API key. Only the stock list is sent to the AI service. The app checks every suggestion against the real stock: invented products are dropped and oversized portions are capped. Without internet it falls back to the standard plan automatically.
Security
- Every user signs in with a password of at least 12 characters and a code from Proton Authenticator (or another TOTP app).
- Family members are added through user management; on first sign-in they choose their own password and link their own app.
- After 5 failed attempts an account is locked for fifteen minutes.
- For use on the go: HTTPS only, preferably through a VPN to home or behind a reverse proxy with a certificate.
Technology
PHP 8.3 with MySQL 8.4, started together with docker compose up -d --build. The database is migrated automatically on update, so stock and history are kept.
